Wonderland: London in winter

My winter wonderland experience was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a minute. For once, it felt like Christmas.

Winter wonderland is a large annual Christmas event held in Hyde Park, London. It has been running for over 15 years and I’ve only visited for the first time ever this year.

There is a lot of rides to pick from. The first ride my date and I did was car race. I am not a big fan of speed, but I had a lot of fun doing this. It wasn’t too fast and not too slow either. Just the perfect speed for a scary cat like me. . When we finished the first activity, we went on to play some games. My date played a few popping of balloons and won me a small teddy that I love so much. After this, we went on to play for a bigger teddy. It took us about 3 rounds of playing to eventually win the big one because it was way more challenging than the small one. We then went to their food centre to get something to eat. We had chips and fish that was quite pricey, but it tasted good. Speaking of pricey, when visiting winter wonderland, just make sure you have your money ready because the cheapest thing to do there starts from £10. Matter of fact, the cheapest thing there was most definitely the entry ticket.

After eating, we decided to do one more activity. So went on the Euro-Coaster. When I tell you that my heart dropped!!! It dropped all the way to the floor. If you know me, you know one of my biggest fears is height. Doing this ride, I will say made me face that fear. But goodness me! it took courage. I was crying at some point and just wanted to come down, but it was too late. Once you are sited and strapped, it’s a wrap. Just enjoy the ride and pray to make it back down safely

after this ride, we decided to call it a night and make our way back home. Altogether, we spent about 2 hours and considering how cold it is there, I wouldn’t want to or recommend staying any longer than that to be honest.

Also, I will advise that you dress up properly to the location as it was extremely cold! At some point, I was convinced that the temperature was part of the aesthetic because it felt like I was in antarctica lol. But my date said it was because it’s an open space, which made total sense.

I look forward to going again because I really enjoyed myself and if you are yet to go, I will advise that you make time to visit. It was totally worth it.
